Blindness is a misfortune. Inspite of a plethora of information regarding preventive health care, accidents happen and resulting malady can prove disastrous to the individual, family and the burden on the community can be easily understood. Meaningless superstitions and taboos still remain a hurdle. Sustained effort and dedication are needed to overcome these hurdles. Prevention and management of blindness is a national priority.
Mohsin Eye Bank has been at the forefront in this field for the last ten years and is steadily growing in stature. A 24Hr service is provided by the co-ordinate efforts of the Eye Bank staff under the guidance of the honorable trustees. Calls from prospective donors are promptly attended. Tissues (cornea) are retrieved, stored, graded, and supplied to participating surgeons on request in a systematic manner.
We have been greatly encouraged by our association with organizations like LVPEI and Sight Life International (USA), who promote eye banks globally. Our interaction with them in the last couple of years has greatly enhanced our understanding and functioning of the system, so much so Mohsin Eye Bank has attained the status of a community eye bank. This has resulted in upgrading our activities to international standards.
Mohsin Eye Bank is a Philanthropic, non-profit organization with a mission to eliminate cornea blindness. We depend on you for support. Browse in to know more about us.
